Hamilton community organisations can now apply for up to $10,000 through Hamilton City Council’s Community Initiative Grant.

Open until Sunday 30 August, the grant is available to not-for-profit community

organisations delivering activities, events, services and projects that contribute to wellbeing in Hamilton.

The Community Initiatives Grant is available twice a year, with eligible organisations able to apply for funding of up to $10,000 per application.

Hamilton City Council’s Community Development and Grants Manager Emily James said this funding can help turn ideas into action and support initiatives that benefit our local communities.

“These organisations play an important role in supporting the wellbeing of Hamilton residents and helping people connect with their communities,” said James.

“Whether you’re running a community event, delivering a local programme, providing support services, or need equipment to help your organisation grow, we encourage eligible groups to apply.”

Previous funding rounds have supported a wide range of initiatives including Hamilton Children’s Day, cultural celebrations such as Waikato Diwali Mela, and essential wellbeing services including Lifelink/Samaritans’ 24/7 helpline.

Two drop-in sessions are being hosted at Hamilton City Council for groups wanting to learn more about the Grant’s criteria and application process: Thursday 6 August, 1pm - 3pm, and Monday 17 August, 10am - midday.
